Greetings everyone,

It’s been about three months since the last “Hochstetter” newsletter and it is on its way in the next two weeks. There’s plenty of  good news, but this email is to let you know about a couple of up and coming events.

The “biggie” is MEG has been given a free display place at Mystery Creek Field Days, by DOC, Waikato Conservancy.DOC have kept their site, but have generously given part of it to conservation groups this year

We have had a scale model built of the northern Peninsula ‘Pest Free Zone’, by the pupils and teacher of Coromandel Area School, to go on display.

There are two tents on the old DOC Site: one will be Weed Busters and the other will be Waikato Biodiversity Forum. We’re in the second tent. If you’re coming to Field Days do stop by to say hello and give some support.

It will be an opportunity to catch up on what’s been happening.

We’d love to see you.--- That’s the 15th-18th June inclusive.

And….

The Waikato University Outdoor Rock Climbing Club have chosen to raise funds for MEG, at their special mid-winter gathering, at the Extreme Edge indoor climbing pavilion, in Hamilton, on the 25th June. Climbers are coming from as far away as Whangarei and Palmerston North at this stage.

Climbers will be sponsored with funds going to MEG projects.

Climbing starts at 6:30pm and will run non stop until 11:30pm.

I will do a Power Point presentation at 6pm and there will be static displays with maps and photos, etc.

As far as I know the public will be welcome, as it is a booked event. If you’re interested in coming to give support (or do a little climbing yourself) you would be very welcome.

‘Things’ are happening for us right now!

And thanks so much for your continuing support.

Regards

Wayne Todd
