Saturday 14th March 2009: Downtown Colville, Welcome to Kiwi Country!
As you may know each March up to 1500 cyclists with families and support crews descend on Colville for NZ’s largest mountain bike race by far – the Kona Colville Connection.
Throughout the day MEG in conjunction with BNZ Save the Kiwi hosted a fundraising and public awareness event culminating in a real Kiwi Country dance from 7:30pm at the Colville hall. There was Monteith’s ale, pork spare ribs from The Peppertree on the BBQ, spot prizes and an art auction. All proceeds will go to kiwi habitat protection in the northern Coromandel.
08-09 Summer programme is over for another year.
